My latest distraction on the internet is Facebook. You can see a little preview on the right side of the page now. If you are on Facebook, please say hello! Maybe we can be facebook friends, if we're not already.
I read this recently from another blog, talking about the difference between facebook and myspace:
The goodie two shoes, jocks, athletes, or other "good" kids are now going to Facebook. These kids tend to come from families who emphasize education and going to college. They are part of what we'd call hegemonic society. They are primarily white, but not exclusively. They are in honors classes, looking forward to the prom, and live in a world dictated by after school activities.
MySpace is still home for Latino/Hispanic teens, immigrant teens, "burnouts," "alternative kids," "art fags," punks, emos, goths, gangstas, queer kids, and other kids who didn't play into the dominant high school popularity paradigm. These are kids whose parents didn't go to college, who are expected to get a job when they finish high school. These are the teens who plan to go into the military immediately after schools. Teens who are really into music or in a band are also on MySpace. MySpace has most of the kids who are socially ostracized at school because they are geeks, freaks, or queers.

visual effects are sooooo coool.
You might need to click on these to see them bigger.
1. You should see a man's face and also a word...hint: Try tilting your head to the right, the world begins with 'L'
2. If you take a look at the following picture , let me tell you, it is not animated. Your eyes are making it move. To test this, stare at one spot for a couple seconds and everything will stop moving. Or look at the black center of each circle and it will stop moving. But move your eyes to the next black center and the previous will move after you take your eyes away from it.

anybody ever heard of this guy?
I've become intrigued by this nut. According to his bio he:
Obviously a nut right? I think I'd like to have known him though. I bet he was a riot. Sure, he's way off when it comes to church, but aren't we all?

Yoakum makes the Star-Telegram
Tandy Brands plans to keep the 60,000-square-foot Yoakum plant, and a staff of about 355, to handle receiving, distribution and administrative operations. But the loss of 165 jobs will be a blow for Yoakum, which counts Tandy Brands as its largest employer and features tours of the Tandy Brands factory each February as part of the city's annual Land of Leather festival.

This is where I'm from.
It is funny that someone made a video of this. I've been to dances at that hall. I'm proud to be a Yoakumite. Snaps for anyone who can name that hall!

excerpt from an IM conversation with Stephen
Clayton says:
what'd you think about the mahler cycle
Stephen says:
dude
Stephen says:
i wanna go
Stephen says:
baylor symphony is doing mahler 2 at bass hall on april 22
Stephen says:
i think i'm gonna go, you wanna go to?
Clayton says:
that's interesting that they are playing the same thing as fwso so close together
Stephen says:
yeah
Stephen says:
i doubt that was intentional
Stephen says:
$100 for four concerts isn't too bad
Clayton says:
nope, i'd probably only want to hear one of them
Stephen says:
oh really?
Clayton says:
i like the titan
Stephen says:
hm
Stephen says:
i must hear the 9th
Stephen says:
it's my favorite
Clayton says:
so you think you'd try and go every night?
Stephen says:
i might
Clayton says:
cool, i might just go to the 9th with you...and I don't think Margo could handle any of them
Stephen says:
hah
Stephen says:
yeah, probably not
Stephen says:
too long
Clayton says:
yeah
Clayton says:
although she did like Kris Kristopherson at Bass
Stephen says:
so we gonna record another grace record this summer or what?
Clayton says:
ha, prolly not
Stephen says:
heh, i didn't think so
Clayton says:
i got 3 unopened boxes left
Stephen says:
ooo
Stephen says:
how many have you sold?
Clayton says:
we sold a little over half what we needed to cover the cost...prolly around 200
Stephen says:
cool
Clayton says:
actually let me check...
Clayton says:
179 to be exact
Stephen says:
nice
Clayton says:
but we're giving them away as promo to new/potential members now, so they are
getting used for the ministry of the church
Stephen says:
which is a good thing
Clayton says:
yeah...one of the reasons we did it...but I'd like to think about doing one every 3 years
Stephen says:
cool
Stephen says:
hey that doctoral program you're gonna do
Stephen says:
do you end up with a dmin?
Stephen says:
not to be conused with dmin7
Clayton says:
no, a dws=Doctor of Worship Studies
Stephen says:
ah
Clayton says:
d-f-a-c
Stephen says:
someone was telling me that truett does a dmin like that
Stephen says:
where you don't have to be here
Clayton says:
really? I'll look into it, but i'm pretty set already, getting ready to buy flight/hotel/car rental soon
Stephen says:
yeah, i figured that
Stephen says:
i was telling them about what you're doing and they wondered if you had looked into truett
Clayton says:
who is them?
Stephen says:
rick and another guy that plays poker with us
Stephen says:
goes to truett
Clayton says:
plus, it's a free trip to Florida every summer!
Stephen says:
that's true
Stephen says:
much better than a free trip to waco
Clayton says:
hey, tell me what you think about this....I'm thinking about starting a blog about Mr. Yeager
Stephen says:
like a whole blog or just an entry?
Clayton says:
kind of an homage to him, a collection of all his sayings, stories, teachings, and such...a whole
blog
Stephen says:
sounds fun
Stephen says:
some of the stories i tell of him just seem made up
Clayton says:
no way
Stephen says:
like there's no way that could have really happened
Clayton says:
i can verify
Stephen says:
like tell me if i've embellished this
Stephen says:
he counted points off on someone's test because it had coffee stains on it
Stephen says:
from the coffee he flicked
Clayton says:
hahaha
Stephen says:
i'm pretty sure that happened
Clayton says:
see i didn't remember that...we need this blog to collect all that before we forget it...to
preserve it for posterity
Stephen says:
indeed
Clayton says:
all i remember is the skeleton's hand in his crotch
Stephen says:
classic story
Clayton says:
and punishing us with a pop test, that only me an sarah passed
Stephen says:
janitor's finger in a jar
Clayton says:
can with label that read "Fish Buttholes"
Stephen says:
hahhahhah
Stephen says:
forgot about that one
Stephen says:
yeah, you should start it
Clayton says:
i will, and you'll contribute
Stephen says:
sweet
