gearing up for florida

I leave early Wednesday morning to fly to Florida. I'll be spending the week there, starting my doctoral program at the Robert Webber Institute for Worship Studies. I'm looking forward to it, and dreading it at the same time...both bummed and excited...

BUMMED - to leave my son for the first time.
EXCITED - to start this new phase of rigorous education
BUMMED - to leave my wife for a week [I'm going to miss watching the first season of Lost on DVD with her late into the night]
EXCITED - to get some time away from work/church to clear my head
BUMMED - Robert Webber, founder of the school, passed away recently, and I won't get the chance to hear him or meet him
EXCITED - the profs and new friendships made are going to be great
BUMMED - being away from my family on my first Father's Day [not really a big deal...I think it's a holiday made up by card companies to trick us into buying something]
EXCITED - to learn more about worship and church and meet a variety of people from a variety of different church settings that will hopefully stretch me and show me more of who God is
