new show

Big Love

We got one of the DVDs from the first season and watched it Saturday night. I really like this show. It's kind of a behind the scenes look at a polygamist family in Utah. I think it appeals to me for several reasons:

  • I went on a Mission Trip to Utah/Idaho in college and saw first hand what Mormonism is like

  • the show is on HBO, and I think Christians should be keenly aware of what airs on HBO...it's what the rest of the world watches

  • despite the TV-MA rating, there is no cursing on the show [one word in 3 episodes]

  • The website claims...
According to a joint report issued by the Utah and Arizona Attorney General's Offices, July 2005, "[a]pproximately 20,000 to 40,000 or more people currently practice polygamy in the United States." The Mormon Church officially banned the practice of polygamy in 1890.

oh no...our wanted add would look like this:

SWF, 30-40s, must be able to cook and clean, have own car to run mundane errands, follows directions and likes constructive criticism, looks not important.
