The Blasphemy Challenge
The Blasphemy Challenge
This was on ABC Nightline a few weeks ago. Apparently it is cool now to make a video of yourself committing the unforgivable sin [Mark 3:29 reads, "whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."]
These vlogs feature people saying stuff like: "My name is Joel. I deny the Holy Spirit, as well as God, Jesus, Buddha, Zeus, Mohammad, Joseph Smith, Sponge Bob, the pope, Santa Clause, Mother Mary, the Easter bunny, the tooth fairy, Optimus Prime, all the saints and Spiderman."
As I read somewhere recently, everyone has faith in something. You may deny faith in everything related to religion and Christianity, but you have faith in something. It may be your own will, your own strength, or something, but everyone gets up every day because they believe something. They may believe in family, or work, or self satisfaction, but the belief is there.

I actually wrote a blog against the Blasphemy Challenge if you're interested. Just click on my name and you'll find it. Indeed, everybody has something to believe in.
Hey! I just read that in Velvet Elvis last week.
