advent
First things first, I want to give props to a new blogger whom I really admire.

There is some depth in these posts. It'll make you think.
As we were struggling last week to come up with a series for Christmas at Grace, I realized something. There is a great series already out there. It isn't new or undiscovered, but something really old...so old that it's fresh.
Advent is so rich. One of the main reasons I like it is because it is clearly anticipating the birth/second coming of Christ. NOT THE LATEST TOY. Materialism has sucked all the meaning out of Christmas. But Advent focuses us on the hope and expectation of a Savior. It forces us to ponder what existence was like without a Savior. Patience. We've got to re-live the waiting every year. I'm really hoping to move our church into this season next year. I added the Good Friday service to our calendar this year, and next year I plan to add Advent.
The computer is still jacked up at home, so I had to come to my office on Saturday to do my surfing. The imac should be here on Monday though! Anyone have any tips for long time PC users switching to Mac for the first time since junior high (Apple IIe)?
