today was
so lame. I was horribly bored because Margo left to Lorena for a baby shower. I had some stuff to do though. We recorded the Adult Choir this morning. Added them on the "Shout to the North" track [which I said yesterday]. It turned out ok, the vocal sound is much thicker now, which is good.
I also mentioned Christi's song yesterday, "Wings of Mercy." I think this one is going to work also. She recorded the vocals last night, and I did the acoustic guitar & bass guitar. Stephen is going to come up with an electric part for it...cause we didn't have time to get to it. And he'll be able to come up with something cooler anyway. We talked about having some backwards guitar on it. I think it will add the right mood to this song, which is very moody. Minor 9 chords, loose progressions, meter changes.
We thought the vocals needed an extra push after we had already done 2-3 takes. So I [unknown to the vocalist] raised the key a 1/2 step on the last take. That did the trick. Having to reach for the high notes milked it just the right way. I'm looking forward to hearing how it turns out.
Church tomorrow, we're doing "Made to Worship" the new Tomlin song.
