hole in the wall
On September 22, 2006 the Star Telegram had an article about the top 10 "hole in the wall" food places of Tarrant County. When reading it, I realized there was one right around the corner from where we live, and decided that we must try it out. Today we did.
Now, Margo is usually adamantly opposed to such places. She prefers the "name brand" eating establishments [Whataburger, Chili's, Olive Garden]. I, however, being born and raised in a "hole in the wall" type town, love them. A great example is one time I wanted to take Margo to this great restaurant I had been to before, in Marble Falls, called The Bluebonnet Cafe. If you've ever been to Marble Falls, or live in the area, you know it. It is famous for it's pies. Margo wanted nothing to do with it, but I made her go anyway. She hated it. And it caused a big fight, and she was very mad at me. She'll never forget it, and never let it go. I try and take her there every time we go to Marble Falls.
Well, she must be warming up to the idea of "hole in the wall"s because she suggested we go to this place today. It was on the Star Telegram top 10 places, called The Point on Lake Worth. And today, she actually liked it, and admitted it was a good choice for eating. I highly recommend it too: head toward Lockheed Martin on Clifford St., take a left on Bomber, and it deadends into it on the left. It is right on Lake Worth, and we ate on the deck that overlooks the lake. Very scenic, and it was breezy and nice. The cheeseburger was great, so were the onion rings. It wasn't cheaper, like you'd expect a "hole in the wall" to be, but it wasn't too bad.
Ok, so the rest of today is open to kill. I'm gonna finish reading Generous Orthodoxy, and move on to Emerging Worship by Dan Kimball. I've also got The Man in Black by the Man himself, that I may get into.
