10 Advantages of Doing Ministry Without a Ministry Strategy

We've got a marriage retreat this weekend. Margo and I need some serious overhaul work done on our marriage. She just doesn't get me.

I kid.

Margo gets me. Our marriage is purring as after a fine-tuning. And it is officially a "Marriage Roundup" [yee-haw], not a retreat. I think the difference is there will be more leather, more "riding bare-back" jokes, and more cow poop to watch out for.

I'm a little hesitant about this roundup.
I grew up in Yoakum, TX. When I graduated high school and moved out, I got as far away as I could [not necessarily distance wise, but social wise]. So now, feeling pushed back in to this rodeo-esque environment, I'm a little uneasy. I could never work in a cowboy church.

I kid.

Goat-ropers and s***-kickers are people too. But I will get to accompany Sheri on a couple of country love ballads, to complete the Roundup flavor. I bet you we eat ranch style beans and sausage for dinner on Friday.
