veil the last discoveries
So the band and I did this song for church this morning. It is by Ross King. We rocked it so hard in the last service that I broke a string. Here are the lyrics:
Mystery tends to be an obstacle to theology.
Some would try to close the book on You, but You aren't even nearly close to through.
We desire to know in full, but then You wouldn't be a miracle.
You are much to high and wide and deep to be exhausted in a half-hour speech.
You veil the last discoveries, that's how I know that they're bigger than me.
You are a giant mystery and it'll take all of eternity and that's fine with me; it's fine with me to wait and see.
What a crime to misdefine, reducing You to our design.
Love is not the only thing You are, it's just the part that we know so far.
And it's easy to believe that You are just like me but that ain't true.
You're more than every guess combined and I will never get it all in my mind.
Everybody's trying to make it a brain thing. Who gets the glory for all their answers?
But Martha's sister, she discovered the main thing when she found a seat at His feet and it never will be taken from her.
It is a very cool song, with good lyrics. Ross deserves more props as an artist. The song has a nice little reggae feel to it also. It was a nice wrap-up to our series on the Trinity.
