bf & waso

Ok, if you're a Ben Folds fan, you need to see this. Even if you don't like Ben Folds, you should see it. He is accompanied by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra for some of the most beautiful music ever summoned from the depths of human emotion. It isn't without flaws, but the raw, emotional connection made through the music overshadows. I continue to believe that Ben is one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time.

The highlight for me: on the song "Not the Same" [probably my favorite all-time BF song], Ben instructs and then rehearses the huge audience to sing 3-part harmony during certain key BGV parts of the song. And they pull it off. So why do we shy away from making congregations sing harmony in services? Probably because there aren't a bunch of half-tanked Ausies in our congregation on Sunday.
